For my paid subscribers, I’ve put together this explainer of the Georgia indictment. The indictment is as serious as it gets. Both in the gravity of the charges (and accompanying detail) and the tantalizing prospect that the prosecutors have already managed to flip key witnesses (including the possibility they flipped someone in the December 18, 2020 Oval Office meeting with Trump). Learn all about it here!

I also provide a detailed explanation of conspiracy law—debunking the talking point that this indictment is criminalizing using the phone or other mundane activities. If you want to learn more about the conspiracy doctrine, I wrote what some consider the main academic article on the subject, available here: https://www.yalelawjournal.org/article/conspiracy-theory

Reminder that Courtside is entirely listener supported. I run no ads. All profits from Courtside go to charity. I hope you enjoy the episode. Tomorrow, I’ll have a new full Courtside episode with the brilliant musician and songwriter Aaron Dessner (guitarist of the National, co-wrote Taylor Swift’s Evermore and Folklore records along with Ed Sheeran’s new Subtract record).
