The brilliant comic discusses Morrison v. Olson (1988) and how to prosecute a President, along with the parallels between Supreme Court arguments and stand-up
I learned about Courtside when Neal was interviewed by David Lat for his Original Jurisdiction podcast.
The concept of discussing Supreme Court decisions with non-lawyers appealed to me since I’m one of those people. The Court has taken on more importance in everyday life in recent years. That influenced me to learn more about it.
Perhaps Neal would entertain a suggestion from this Court watcher. Please talk about Citizens United and campaign finance. To me that was a seminal case.
Great podcast - fascinating constitutional problem, I couldn’t help but think about John’s sharpened weapon comment along with the fact that our system kind of relies on good faith behavior on the part of our Congress as well - for the impeachment process. How do we enforce the “oath of office and to the constitution” for presidents and congresspeople?
Hi! I paid for a subscription for full episodes but only half the episodes are made available to me. I can’t find a contact number or email to ask the question or get it resolved. Anyone I can talk to?
John Mulaney’s knowledge and capabilities of delving into the meaning and possible results of the Supreme Court’s decisions were really enlightening. The interview by Neil was terrific showing John Mulvaney’s intimate awareness of the Supreme Court history, cases and Supreme Court Justices and his creative way of writing for television.
Not sure if this is still an issue but I found I had access to everything in the substack app - but in apple’s podcast app my subscription wasn’t recognized.
