Thank you. I hope your Op/Ed becomes a catalyst for a nation-wide flood of like-minded opinions, leaving no room for either Chief Justice Roberts or the Senate to decline televised hearings. Who could argue with your argument? We deserve to see. Ever in your debt - Carol
I wrote the Whitehouse and asked if they could arrange it. I imagine that if we don't televise it for everyone it will be Trump against the press again. The press will report truthfully and trump will say they are lying. Hope it is televised.
Thank you for linking readers to your excellent piece in the Washington Post. That editorial, though written in the context of a different case, points to the need for opening access to see and hear legal proceedings, especially in highly important cases such as this one involving Trump, at an important crisis point for our country.
Prof. Joyce Vance has also weighed in on this topic in her Substack newsletter...apparently only CJ Roberts is the final authority on the question of television in a federal courtroom. Is this correct?
It's SO important that the American people be availed of the opportunity to follow this important and historical moment
on Television. The Special Investigation was so effective and well done for Jan.6. We must somehow change this federal rule (from 1946) to reflect our needs in this digital age. This is History.
Thank you. I dearly hope that this op-ed is a catalyst. Having the trial broadcast---even with a delay of some sort---would go so far in preventing false reporting and conspiracy, and might actually undermine polarization.
Absolutely this trial must be televised. Otherwise Trump will tell people what went on and what to think about it and they will believe him. Our country is at stake here. The country must see this.
Thank you for this information and the link. I just sent a message to the DOJ/Attorney General, requesting the federal trial of the United States versus Donald J Trump to be televised.
Per Neal Katyal -his column about this in the WaPo and his Courtside podcast - it's the DOJ and/or Chief Justice John Roberts. I also contacted my US Senators, in case they can have any influence.
You inspired me to write to all of my Congresspeople asking them to work toward televising the trial. Hope it works! Have loved Loved listening to all your analysis on the indictment and arraignment!
Thank you. I had gone to the site and noted the message availability however, I also noted that it says these messages are not addressed in a timely fashion. That said, you are right, I should have submitted a note here, and now I have. Thank you F. Reynolds.

I'm a great appreciator of Neal's mind and person. He is an outstanding human being and one we can all emulate.

Yes yes yes. We all need to see Trump trial. Much too important events to keep the public in the dark!

ABSOLUTELY. It Must Be. One man cannot deny a NATION of what is right. Thanks to everyone. 🇺🇸

I felt a sense of comfort knowing that several judges were present in the courtroom during the arraignment.
Please contact the DOJ to ask for Trump's trial for the attempted coup to be televised and streamed live:
- The US Department of Justice Comment Line: 202-353-1555
- Write to the US Department of Justice -- there's an online form to fill in: https://www.justice.gov/doj/webform/your-message-department-justice
I've included talking points and this info in our local Indivisible newsletter. Please spread the word - and contact DOJ.

Who is the person who has the power to make the decision to televise?

We would Love to see the trial on tv.

Thank you honorable Katyal!
I couldn’t agree more. There’d be less chance of those inclined to spinning the results.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Thank you. How can I, as an American with the right to watch this trial, go about getting it broadcast?
